Think about the impression you want to create and what would you wear to meet your best client or biggest opportunity? Solid colours, different textures, and layered looks all work well. Avoid distracting logos or patterns unless they’re part of your brand. And bring plenty of options, too much if anything, that way I can help you decide at your photoshoot what to wear. There's nothing worse than wishing you had brought something with you!

If you usually wear makeup, then yes and I’d suggest going for a natural look to begin with as you can always add more during the session if we want to change up the vibe. Remember to bring any touch-up products with you.

I’ve got a well-equipped dressing room ready for you to use. If you’d like professional hair and makeup, I have trusted contacts I can recommend and will be happy to arrange this for you.

When you book in for a studio session you will receive a full checklist to help you prepare. In a nutshell, you will need your outfits, accessories, and anything else that represents you or your brand. If you wear glasses regularly, bring those too. Most importantly bring yourself, ready to step into the spotlight.

Absolutely. If you’re a chef, bring your knives. A designer? Bring your sketchpad. A musician? Bring your guitar. Props can add depth, personality and variation to your visuals, so if something feels right, bring it along!

This depends on the type of shoot. A simple headshot session typically takes around an hour. A full brand shoot with multiple looks and backgrounds can take two to three hours. If we’re filming video content too, we’ll allow extra time but I’ll always let you know in advance what to expect.

Absolutely! I have a private dressing room in the studio so you can switch up your look as much as you like. Bring plenty of options with you and I can help you decide on the day matching backgrounds and lighting accordingly.

Yes! These photos are for you and have to best suit your requirements. Whilst we have the studio our disposal, I also love working on location to capture visuals that feel natural and real. If you’ve got a specific place in mind whether it’s your office, a local landmark, or somewhere meaningful to your story - let me know, and we’ll make it happen.

This depends on the session, but I’ll always make sure you have a solid set of versatile images that cover your needs. After the shoot, you’ll receive an online gallery where you view all the photos from the session and you can select your favourites.

Absolutely! Some images just belong in black and white, and I’ll happily provide a mix if you’d like.

Yes! Whether it’s a short, punchy social media video or a longer brand film, I’ll edit everything to ensure it’s sharp, engaging, and works for your goals.

After your session, I’ll send you a private online gallery where you can browse through the shots and select your favourites. From there, I’ll retouch your chosen images to ensure they’re perfect and ready to use!

Yes, to secure your studio session, I ask for a £50 deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due on the day of your photoshoot. For business projects, a 25% deposit is required payable via invoice.

Yes, there is a designated car park just for visitors. If you are travelling by car, let me know ahead of your session and I will ensure a parking space is reserved for you. When you turn into the University of Lincoln entrance, turn right at the mini roundabout and buzz the reception at the red barrier, signposted P7 Visitors Car Park. Let reception know you are visiting Headshot Toby and they will let you in!

Once you’ve selected your favourites, retouched images are usually ready within 7 working days. You will be notified by email when your edited photos have been added to your gallery ready to download and use.

No problem, additional edited photos can be purchased within your online gallery. If your link expires, contact me and I'll be happy to send you a new link.
